
Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program
To help students who live in one of the states below and intend to pursue further education through college or vocational school programs, Dominion Energy has set up a scholarship program.
The nation’s leading creator and administrator of scholarships and other education support programs for businesses, foundations, associations, and people, Scholarship America®, oversees the administration of this program. Scholarship America’s evaluation staff reviews eligible applications, and eligibility for specific programs is decided at the sponsor’s exclusive discretion.

Your application has to include the following files:
- an up-to-date, comprehensive grade transcript. Grade reports are not accepted. The student’s name must appear on transcripts.
- Name of school, grades
- Each course’s credit hours and the term in which it was taken are listed.
NOTE: You will need to upload a copy of your test score report or reports separately if you are giving SAT or ACT test results that are not on your high school transcript. Those scores are not necessary if you are uploading a transcript from college.
A copy of the first two pages of the most current IRS Form 1040 that was used for the application’s Financial Information section. Please confirm that the data on the 1040 corresponds to the information you submitted on your application. Additionally, before posting, make sure to black out all SSNs.
The deadline for submitting one online recommendation form on your behalf is April 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time.
Without the electronic submission of all necessary materials, your application is incomplete.
Honors
Students studying two-year programs will get rewards of $5,000, while those pursuing four-year degrees will receive awards of $10,000. Renewing awards is possible for a maximum of three more years or until a bachelor’s degree is obtained, whichever comes first. Renewal is subject to Dominion Energy continuing the program and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale throughout a full-time course of study. Additionally, applicants have to stay in one of the states that qualify.
Only undergraduate studies are eligible for awards.
Notification
Notification will be sent to all candidates in July.
Scholarship payments
Scholarship America handles Dominion Energy’s scholarship disbursements. The school where the student is enrolled receives payments in August.
Recipient Selection The following criteria are used to choose the finalist:
- Academic history
- Leadership qualities and involvement in school and community activities
- Experience in the workplace
- A list of goals and objectives for education and employment
- Unusual familial or personal situations
- Proven dedication to creating a friendly environment where everyone is encouraged and feels appreciated
- A suggestion from the internet
Applicants’ financial information will be gathered. The remaining 20% of scholarships will be given out based on merit, with the remaining 80% being given out based on a combination of need and merit.
Scholarship Dominion Energy will choose the winners after America chooses the finalists. Not every program candidate will be chosen to receive funding. Every year that they fulfill the prerequisites for eligibility, students are allowed to reapply to the program. Every applicant acknowledges that the decision is final.
Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program applicants need to:
- Residents of one of the following states who are seniors in high school, recent graduates, or enrolled as undergraduates in college: WV, VA, MD, NC, SC, CT
- For the duration of the next academic year, make plans to enroll full-time in undergraduate studies at a recognized two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
- possess a minimum grade point average (or its equivalent) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
