
US Foods, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist students pursuing a degree in the Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related disciplines.
The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Scholarship Requirements
- an up-to-date, comprehensive grade transcript. Grade reports are not accepted. The student’s name must appear on transcripts.
- Name of school Grades
- Each course’s credit hours and the term in which it was taken are listed.
NOTE: You will need to upload a copy of your test score report or reports separately if you are giving SAT or ACT test results that are not on your high school transcript. Those scores are not necessary if you are uploading a transcript from college.
By May 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time, you must additionally submit one online recommendation on your behalf.
Until all necessary documents are supplied electronically, your application is not deemed complete.
Scholarship Benefits and Awards
There will be up to eighteen (18) awards given out, each worth between $10,000 and $20,000.
Recipients who are starting their last year of school will receive a $20,000 one-time prize.
All other recipients will receive $10,000 awards, which are renewable once or until they earn a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. These awards are given out based on full-time enrollment, continued study in an eligible major, and satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale).
Tuition, fees, books and supplies, and room and board are among the educational costs that might be covered with awards. Only undergraduate studies are eligible for awards.
US Foods will provide mentorship opportunities and professional growth to the recipients. Recipients are expected to take advantage of at least one opportunity for professional growth.
Notification
Notification will be sent to all candidates in June.
Scholarship payments
Scholarship America handles US Foods, Inc.’s scholarship payouts. Two installments of payment are due in early August and mid-December. Payments for students who get renewable grants will only be given in August.
Selection of Recipients
The following criteria are used to choose scholarship recipients:
- Academic achievement
- Leadership qualities and involvement in school and community activities
- Experience in the workplace
- Unusual familial or personal situations
- A suggestion from the internet
- A brief response question on your professional objectives * Need for money will be taken into account. Recipients have to prove their necessity.
If necessary, SAI has the right to request financial aid award packages.
Scholarship America is responsible for choosing the finalists and winners. No US Foods, Inc. executive or employee ever participates in the selection process. Every applicant acknowledges that the decision is final.

Terms and condition of scholarship selection criteria
- Be at least eighteen when the August award distribution takes place.
- Be a lawful resident of the United States or an individual with the right to work in the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
- Make plans to enroll in or be enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies for the whole forthcoming academic year at a two- or four-year college or university that has earned accreditation.
- Be pursuing a degree in culinary arts or a similar field, such as culinary science, baking and pastry arts, nutrition and food business management, or hospitality management, among others.
- Agree to take advantage of at least one US Foods professional development opportunity.
Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) employees and their dependent children are not eligible. US Foods employees, subsidiaries, parents, affiliates, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment, and marketing agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children, regardless of where they live) and those living in the same household are not eligible.
