Entergy Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist current college undergraduates in an eligible technology major who plan to continue their education at an eligible HBCU four-year university.
The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Scholarship Requirements
- an up-to-date, comprehensive grade transcript. Grade reports are not accepted. Grades, school name, and student name must appear on transcripts.
- Each course’s credit hours and the term in which it was taken are listed.
- Without the electronic submission of all necessary materials, your application is incomplete.
Scholarship Benefits and Awards
The kid will get a $5,000 scholarship if they are chosen as a recipient. There will be up to 20 prizes given out.
Students may reapply to the program each year they fulfill the eligibility conditions, but awards are not renewable.
Recipients can apply to Entergy Corporation for upcoming internships and/or jobs.
Only undergraduate studies are eligible for awards.
Notification
In late May, all candidates will get notifications.
Scholarship payments
Scholarship America handles Entergy Corporation’s scholarship payouts. In August, payment is made.
Selection of Recipients
The following criteria are used to choose scholarship recipients:
- Academic history
- Leadership qualities and involvement in school and community activities
- Experience in the workplace
- A list of goals and objectives for education and employment
- Unusual familial or personal situations
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of winners is made by Scholarship America. No Entergy Corporation officer or employee ever participates in the selecting process. Not every program candidate will be chosen to receive funding. Every year that they fulfill the prerequisites for eligibility, students are allowed to reapply to the program. Every applicant acknowledges that the decision is final.
Terms and condition of scholarship selection criteria
- Be enrolled in college as a sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in a technology-related field.Cloud Computing, Communication Networks and Security, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, and AI programs are among the majors that qualify.
- For the entire upcoming academic year, make plans to enroll full-time in undergraduate studies at one of the following recognized four-year HBCU universities or minority-serving colleges.
- Louisiana: Grambling State University, Xavier University, Southern University of New Orleans, Dillard University, and Southern University and A&M College
- Arkansas: Philander Smith College, UA-Pine Bluff
- Mississippi: Rust College, Tougaloo College, Jackson State University, Alcorn State University, and Mississippi Valley State University
- Texas: Sam Houston State University, the University of Houston, and Texas Prairie View A&M University
Employees of Energy Corporation and their immediate family members are not eligible if they have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent.
