Edith Langdale Scholarship assists high school

The Edith Langdale Scholarship assists high school seniors who attend school and reside in Warren County, PA and are planning to pursue a teaching degree.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

 Scholarship Requirements

  • an up-to-date, comprehensive grade transcript. Grade reports are not accepted. The student’s name must appear on transcripts.
    • Name of school Grades
    • Each course’s credit hours and the term in which it was taken are listed.

NOTE: You will need to upload a copy of your test score report or reports separately if you are giving SAT or ACT test results that are not on your high school transcript. Those scores are not necessary if you are uploading a transcript from college.

The deadline for submitting one online recommendation form on your behalf is May 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time.

Without the electronic submission of all necessary materials, your application is incomplete.

For the student’s application to be taken into consideration, financial need will also be taken into account and must be proven.

Following the selection of finalists, awardees will be chosen by a committee appointed by PNC Bank, N.A., Trustee.

Not every program participant will be chosen as a finalist or winner. Every applicant acknowledges that the decisions are final.

Awards

The student will receive an award in a sum decided by the Trustee scholarship committee if they are chosen as a recipient.

Renewing awards is possible for a maximum of three more years or until a bachelor’s degree is obtained, whichever comes first. Successful completion of a full-time undergraduate teaching program is a prerequisite for renewal.

Notification

In late July, all applicants will get notification.

Scholarship payments

Scholarship America handles the Trustee’s scholarship payments. In September, payment is made.

Terms and condition of scholarship selection criteria 

  • be citizens of Warren County and seniors in high school in the Warren County, Pennsylvania, area.
  • Be prepared to spend the whole forthcoming academic year enrolled full-time as an undergraduate at a four-year institution or university that has earned accreditation.
  • be working toward a degree in teaching.
  • own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

Applicants must not be PNC employees, Trust committee members, members of their immediate family, or members of their households.
