IBTTA Foundation Scholarship Program 2025 for national

The International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association (IBTTA) is the global association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve them. Founded in 1932, IBTTA has members in 23 countries on six continents. Through advocacy, thought leadership and education, members are implementing state-of-the-art, innovative user-based transportation financing solutions to address the critical infrastructure challenges of the 21st Century.

The IBTTA Foundation – the research, education, and charitable arm of IBTTA – has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in transportation-related fields (listed on eligibility tab below).

This program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

 Scholarship Requirements

an up-to-date, comprehensive grade transcript. Grade reports are not accepted. Grades, school name, and student name must appear on transcripts.
Each course’s credit hours and the term in which it was taken are listed.
The deadline for submitting two online recommendation forms on your behalf is April 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM Central Time.

If you do not electronically provide all of the aforementioned essential papers, your application will not be deemed complete.

Scholarship Benefits and Awards 

The kid will get a $5,000 scholarship if they are chosen as a recipient. A maximum of six (6) prizes will be given out. Awards are given out just once and are not renewable.

Depending on the number of eligible candidates, at least one award will be given to a recipient who is enrolled in an HBCU. For the duration of the forthcoming academic year, the notified recipient must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited HBCU.

A graduate student may get one grant.

Notification

In June, applicants will get notification. Not every program candidate will be chosen to receive funding. Each year that they fulfill eligibility requirements, non-recipients are eligible to reapply for the program.

Scholarship payments

Scholarship On behalf of the International Bridge, Tunnel, and Turnpike Foundation, America handles scholarship disbursements. In mid-August, payments are made in one installment.

Selection of Recipients

  • Academic history
  • Leadership qualities and involvement in school and community activities
  • Experience in the workplace
  • A list of goals and objectives for education and employment
  • Unusual familial or personal situations
  • Two suggestions from the internet

In addition, candidates must write an essay outlining their background and responding to the following query: “How do you envision our country’s transportation needs developing by 2030? What part will you play in determining how those demands might affect mobility? Any employment history pertaining to transportation that will aid us in reviewing your application should be mentioned in your response.

Scholarship America is responsible for selecting the finalists. The IBTTA Foundation chooses the beneficiaries. Every applicant acknowledges that the decision is final.

Terms and condition of scholarship selection criteria 

Graduate students seeking degrees in one of the following fields, or current undergraduate college students who have finished at least two full semesters of undergraduate curriculum at the time of application (24 credits minimum):

  • Civil Engineering
  • Regional and City Planning
  • Management of Construction
  • Public Administration or Public Policy
  • Accounting for Finance and Structural Engineering
  • Technology of Information
  • Management of Businesses
  • Communications for Marketing
  • Operations Management Additional Degrees Associated with Transportation

intending to spend the entire next academic year enrolled full-time in graduate or undergraduate programs at a four-year institution that has earned accreditation.
preserving a cumulative grade point average (or its equivalent) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
