Vice-Chancellor’s Concertmaster Scholarship Program Eligibility
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Commencing music performance student in an honours degree in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at a Monash campus in Australia.
- Continuing music performance student in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at a Monash campus in Australia.
- Majoring in classical violin performance studies and participating in the Monash Academy Orchestra.
Benefits of Vice-Chancellor’s Concertmaster Scholarship Program
- $6000 for a full-time study load (48 credit points) paid for a maximum of one year only.
Number offered
- One scholarship is available.
- In the event that there is more than one equally deserving applicant, the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance may split the scholarship and allocate the same value to all recipients.
Selection criteria
- Based on a combination of academic performance and previous musical performance as determined by the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance.
- Performance at an interview/audition.
- Continuing students must have achieved a minimum of a distinction average (70%) in their principal music study.
To retain this scholarship:
- You must maintain satisfactory academic performance as determined by the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance.
How to apply
- Cannot be deferred.
- Eligible students will be invited to an audition/interview by the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance and will be automatically assessed for this scholarship.
